Usually when the words Summer Camp are used consecutively in a sentence, it is an intro into some long-lost childhood memory. But not this weekend!!
The radio station, ALT 98.7 hosted a festival bearing the name Summer Camp. The venue for this one-day-long concert was the Queen Mary Event Park in Long Beach. Located right on the water, the concert was not only a fun experience but a very scenic one. Since the venue was pretty small with one central stage, it was easy to wander around and visit the food trucks and other tents without missing out on any of the music action.
The six hour line up consisted of nine performances. My favorites were Vance Joy, Haim, The Head and the Heart, and Foster the People. It was so fun to listen to incredible music while dancing around with some of my best friends. Haim, a band of three sisters, blasted music that you couldn’t help but jump up and down to and concluded their set with an iconic drumming session that they all played a part in. And by the next performance, the mood did a 180 degree turn while The Head and the Heart played Rivers & Roads. The lyrics hit a little harder and seemed a bit truer in this season as all my friends leave for college.
I went for a laid back vibe with my outfit. With a simple top and fun pants complimented by sleek sneakers. Details in the photos below!!
Summer Camp was the definition of a perfect August day: sunny, fun, and full of joy. I want to go to camp every year…
With love,
Carly
