Gratitude

I have always been a fan of the idea of Thanksgiving and the sentiment of the holiday. To put aside a day to intentionally reflect and give thanks for all that is good in our lives. In the world we live in, it can feel hard at times to be joyous and continually give thanks but when the wonder of how gracious the gift of life is sets in, I think it is even harder to not shout praises and give thanks.

Whether it be the soft roar of the ocean, a delicate butterfly, a sweet conversation with a friend over coffee, the chance to experience a world much different from your own, or just a bite of really good food, there is so much to be thankful for.

This season, I am really thankful for coffee, friends, and the ability to build relationships. And I am also real grateful for the beauty of a sunset and the promise of a sunrise (especially if the ocean is near).

As I think about some of the most important people and places in my life and the distinct memories that have shaped me, I cannot help but burst with gratitude at the joy that is life.

Everyday should be a day for thanksgiving.

Below are some of my favorite moments, ones that sometimes seem too sweet to be mine, ones that I am real thankful for.

With love (and gratitude),

Carly
