One year since the trip that changed my life.
A little over 365 days have passed since I set out on my first solo flight to meet my best friend halfway across the world in Paris, France. The moment I landed I fell in love with what I saw and was absolutely captivated on the cab ride to town. A foreign city with no plans but to get lost.
I honestly had no idea what was in store, I was just looking forward to a vacation. But those six days spoke to a dormant part of me, essentially shifting my paradigm entirely… and the rest is history.
You know when you are far away but a part of you has never felt more home. More you. More connected to a part of your soul that you never even knew existed. That is what traveling does to me. The more of creation I see, the smaller I feel. In the very best way.
This trip sparked a new light in me and a love for leaving small pieces of myself, bits of my heart, all across the world. Each city I visit owns a part and will have a role in how my life continually unfolds.
When I landed back at LAX, I was left with the coolest souvenirs, most stunning pictures, such surreal memories, and an undeniable itch to get right back on a plane. This ever-present wanderlust has made sure that anything that enters my bank account doesn’t get comfortable there. But no amount of money could equate to the soul rooted joy I feel stepping foot into uncharted territory. Meeting new people and being immersed with new cultures has taught me more about myself and my relation to the world than I ever thought possible.
Since this starting point, I’ve crossed off 5 countries, 16 cities, sat in 7 different plane seats, and proved that this love is insatiable. I can’t wait to get back out there (wherever there is). And I look forward to discovering more of who I am by leaving pieces of myself all across this great, big world.
With love,
Carly
